What this policy covers

This policy applies to ilschoolcalendar.com and its calendar pages, guides, comparisons and downloadable files. IL School Calendar is independently operated; it is not a school district or an Illinois education agency. External district websites and calendar services have their own policies.

Browsing without an account

You can search districts, read guides, compare dates and download PDFs or ICS files without registering. We do not offer student accounts, enrollment services, payments or a facility for uploading education records.

District search and calendar selection work in your browser. Shareable comparison URLs can include the districts you choose. The site does not create a personal planning profile from those choices.

Visit information, cookies and analytics

Hosting and delivery providers may process request information such as IP addresses, requested pages, access times, referring pages, browser details and error logs to serve and secure the website.

The site supports Google Analytics 4 when it is enabled in the production configuration. Analytics can report page visits and browser or device information and can use cookies to distinguish visits. This is separate from an account or a student record. Browser cookie controls and content blockers can limit tracking; disabling cookies does not remove information already processed.

What happens when you report a correction

The Report a Correction form prepares an email draft using the page address, district, school year and information you enter. Opening the draft is not the same as sending it. Contact links also open your email application; your email provider handles the message when you send it.

We receive the sender address, message and any links or attachments you choose to send. We use them to investigate the issue, respond when appropriate and document verified calendar changes. Public correction notes should describe the source and change without publishing your email address.

A page URL, district, school year and official source link are usually enough. Please do not send private student records, medical information, identification documents or passwords.

How information is used and shared

We use visit information to operate, protect and improve the site, and correspondence to handle corrections, questions and privacy requests. Hosting, delivery, analytics and email providers may process information for those purposes. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to address abuse or protect rights.

The current site does not run advertising or affiliate tracking. We do not sell correction messages or email addresses, or intentionally supply them for behavioral advertising.

District links, PDFs and calendar apps

Following a district link or using Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or another external service shares information with that provider under its own policies. We do not receive your calendar password or access to the other events in your personal calendar.

Downloading a file is a request to our website. Importing or subscribing to it is then handled by your chosen calendar application. We do not control that application’s account settings, storage or refresh behavior.

Retention, security and children

We keep correspondence and operational information for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, maintain records, protect the service or meet legal obligations. Provider retention settings may differ. No website or email system can guarantee complete security.

This general-information site is intended for parents, guardians, educators and other people planning school schedules. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

Your choices and contacting us

Use your browser’s privacy settings to manage cookies and third-party scripts. To ask about information you sent, request a correction or request deletion, email corrections@ilschoolcalendar.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. Rights and any required response depend on the law that applies to your request.

We may need limited information to confirm that a request concerns you. Do not send identity documents unless we have arranged an appropriate verification method. This policy will be revised when our practices change; the date above identifies this version, not the last time the site was generated.
