About West Aurora School District 129

Fall parent-teacher conferences in West Aurora School District 129 are staggered by grade: October 5 for grades 6-8, October 6 and 8 for kindergarten through grade 5, and October 7 for grades 9-12. On October 9, K-12 students attend morning classes before afternoon conferences. October 12 is a separate no-school day. Families should check their school's messages for appointment and dismissal details.

The other K-12 half days are March 19 and May 21, 2027. Thanksgiving break runs November 25-27, 2026, winter break December 21 through January 1, and spring break March 26 through April 2. Students return January 4 after winter break and April 5 after spring break. May 21 is the planned last day of attendance, but emergency make-up dates reserved for May 24-28 could extend the year. Pre-K has its own calendar, including different March 19 and May 21 arrangements.
