About Huntley Community School District 158

Huntley 158 students do not all start on the same day. Grades 1-12 begin Wednesday, August 19, 2026, followed by kindergarten on August 20 and Early Childhood on August 21. Families with children in different grades should also note the district's SIP early-release schedule: middle and high schools dismiss at 12:30 p.m., Martin Elementary at 12:55 p.m. and other elementary schools at 1:30 p.m. ECC students have separate days without classes.

There are no student classes during Thanksgiving week, November 23-27, 2026. Parent-teacher conferences take place November 23-24, November 25 is a floating holiday, and the Thanksgiving holiday falls on November 26-27. Students return Monday, November 30. Winter break runs December 21 through January 4, including a staff institute day on January 4. Classes resume Tuesday, January 5, 2027.

The February schedule includes SIP early dismissal on Thursday, February 11, followed by a non-attendance day on February 12 and Presidents Day on February 15. Spring break runs March 29-April 2, but students are also off Friday, March 26. Classes resume Monday, April 5. ECC students have another Parent Education Day without classes on April 22, followed by a districtwide institute day on April 23.
