About Huntley Community School District 158

Huntley 158 opens the 2027-2028 school year on three different dates. Grades 1-12 begin Wednesday, August 18, 2027, kindergarten starts August 19 and Early Childhood begins August 20. The district also schedules six SIP early-release dates for K-12 students. Middle and high schools dismiss at 12:30 p.m., Martin Elementary at 12:55 p.m. and other elementary schools at 1:30 p.m. ECC follows a separate schedule on those dates.

Students have no classes during the November 22-26 school week. Parent-teacher conferences take place November 22-23, followed by a floating holiday November 24 and Thanksgiving holidays November 25-26. Winter break runs December 20 through January 3, including a staff institute day on January 3. Classes resume Tuesday, January 4, 2028.

ECC students have no classes March 6-7, 2028, for parent-teacher conferences. K-12 students attend school on March 6, when Casimir Pulaski Day is observed as a waived holiday, and dismiss early for SIP on March 7. Spring break runs March 27-31, with no classes through Sunday, April 2. Students return Monday, April 3.
