About Waukegan Community Unit School District 60
Waukegan District 60 students start school August 14, 2028. Fall parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the evenings of October 25 and 26, followed by no student classes Friday, October 27. The district is also closed for Election Day on November 7. Thanksgiving recess runs November 22-24, with classes resuming November 27.
Winter break runs December 25, 2028, through January 5, 2029. Monday, January 8, is a records day without students, so classes resume Tuesday, January 9. Including the surrounding weekends and records day, students have December 23-January 8 away from classes. The next district holiday is Martin Luther King Day on January 15.
An institute day on February 16 and Presidents Day on February 19 give students a four-day weekend. Spring break runs March 26-30, with classes resuming April 2. Another institute day on April 9 is a student day off. The annual calendar does not provide school-specific early-dismissal or late-start dates, so families should check their school's separate bell schedule before arranging pickup.
