About Waukegan Community Unit School District 60
Waukegan District 60 begins the 2027-28 school year August 16. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the evenings of October 20 and 21, with appointment times varying by school level. Students have no classes Friday, October 22. Thanksgiving recess runs November 24-26; November 22 and 23 remain school days.
Winter break is December 20-31, 2027, but the January return needs clarification. The district's calendar grid marks January 3 as a records day, while the written dates say students return January 3 and identify January 10 as a records day. The quarter schedule also begins January 4. Until the district clarifies these entries, neither January 3 nor January 10 should be treated as a confirmed school day or day off.
Students have two four-day weekends later in the year. An institute day on February 18 and Presidents Day on February 21 create a break from February 18-21.
